I started sewing as a little girl making clothes for my dolls with the scraps of fabric in my mom’s sewing room. Then when in 1960 I had my own real live doll I delighted in making clothes for her. As time went on I had two more daughters and nine granddaughters to sew for.
My passion is sewing for little girls, as my granddaughters became teenagers and no longer want the homemade clothes Grandma made for them I decided to sew for other little girls.
When I retired I decided to start a home business making clothes for little girl’s. I love to see their faces when they discover a Frozen or a Shopkins dress. Often they ask can you make a dress with kittens, horses or rabbits on the dress and I delight in saying yes to them.
One of my customers has purchased a number of dresses for her granddaughter and the little girls tells people “This was made for me by a grandma I do not know.”
I purchase quality fabrics and put a lot of love into each item I make. All items in my shop are created by me in my smoke free studio. Nothing is mass produced.
I can be found on Saturday and Sunday at the City Market in downtown Kansas City from 8am to 3 pm. Please come to see me, if you cannot get to the market just give me a call and I will be happy to help you.
